De ceva vreme ma tot mananca sa-mi fac un sistem mic / low power / silent cu 2 x lan care sa devina router / firewall / file / ftp / web server, etc. Pana acum m-am jucat cu ideea de a merge pe un intel atom (single sau dual core) si sa-i mai pun eu o placa de retzea pe slotul pci liber. Problema cu solutia asta este ca ma costa mai mult carcasa / sursa pentru el decat restul componentelor. M-am uitat si de solutii de la via dar sunt mult mai scumpe. Singurul loc unde am gasit atom dual core pe stoc e aici dar nu am reusit sa gasesc o carcasa decenta ca pret pentru el. Daca s-a mai jucat cineva cu asa ceva, vreau si eu solutii alternative pentru sistem / carcasa. Specific ca ma intereseaza sa iasa ceva relativ ieftin (max 200$). edit : mai exista si optiunea asta dar nu prea ma incanta pe mine limitarile hardware : PC Engines Order Form

exista solutia clasica Chenbro Micom Co., Ltd. si placa mini itx dupa buget ... de al epia pana la montevina  optim pret/performanta este x2 low power + placa jetway 780g alternativ, (si recomandat) daca nu vrei sa-ti bati capul, exista HP Mediasmart Server, sau orice Linux NAS mai bun (Synology)

Chenbro-ul e superb ca si hp-ul dar deja iesea din gama de pret dorita. Oricum problema s-a rezolvat prin achizitionarea unui Ibm X41 fara ecran (centrino 1.4, 512 ram, 40 gb, gigabit onboard, wireless, etc + docking station + placa pcmcia) pe care am pus ClarkConnect. Singura problema ramane cu partea de file server dar am remarcat controller s-ata pcmcia cu performante decente daca ma decid sa raman cu el asa. Daca nu, Chenbro e primul pe lista. -------------------- Editare ulterioară -------------------- btw, se gaseste chenbro la noi pe piata ?

Scuze ptr. "diversiune", dar aseara , desi am oprit apc-cs-650, am uitat sa scot cablul de alimentare de la PC, si apoi am scos 2 module DDR2 din lacasuri; intrebare: mai era ceva curent pe placa de baza? (sursa ATX, avea butonul pe "ON")

au mai aparut niste fonduri asa ca o sa merg pe un chenbro pe care inca nu stiu ce sa pun astept sugestii. pentru cei interesati, vechea solutie este disponibila la vanzare aici : IBM X40 + docking station
