War - News / Patches

The following are just some of the ideas and features we'll be implementing before launch. We'll provide more information on each as they're released!

Confirmed pre-launch features yet to be added:


* Guild Search and Profile (leader, founding date, roster, rank, etc..)
* RvR status per server (victory points, campaign control, state of capital cities, etc..)

Planned improvements to current features:


* Rank and Career information added to Leaderboard listings
* Increase Leaderboard listings from top 10 to top 20
* Advanced Character Search options
* Guild names added to Character list linking to Guild Profile

Changes at launch:

* Leaderboard time interval goes from Daily to Weekly

Post-launch planning:

* Guild Leaderboards

We know everyone is waiting anxiously to get back into the WAR and try out the new 4.1 patch. Our production team has been working tirelessly to fix bugs, make tweaks, add polish and put in additional features. When all is said and done, it’s an immense amount of work that's been done to the game and we are eager to have you test it. Please note: This will be an early version of this patch and it may suffer from CTD and stability issues. We would rather get you testing this as soon as possible and have some risk involved, but you should be forewarned that there may be issues. Obviously we will work hard to avoid such issues, but this is part of being Elder testers.

Some of the areas where you’ll notice changes include:
  • Careers and Classes
  • Death System
  • Guild Standards
  • Content (both PvE and RvR)
  • Guild Vaults, Taxes and Tithes
  • Scenario updates
  • Cities updates
  • Tome of Knowledge

Also, we have added two highly-anticipated new features:
  • Personal Vaults
  • Auction House

A ton of fixes have been made, and we encourage you to get into the game and beat on all of them! Use the in-game bug reports and feedback as well as the beta forums to provide us with feedback on problems you may find and how you feel about all the changes. Remember, this is an early version of the 4.1 patch that we are giving to you to test first, so that you can help us with this final phase before Open Beta. You are our elite testers, chosen to see all of this new content before the throngs of thousands bombard our servers, and so your feedback is more important now than ever before.

As soon as we are ready to go with the new patch, we will let you know so you can get into the game and start testing. Thanks to all of our beta testers. Your help and dedication has been crucial in making Warhammer Online the best game it can be and we look forward to working with you through this crucial phase, taking us one step closer to our goal.

This Wednesday we are going to clone some of our busiest servers to help spread the load around and to reduce queuing times. Please note however that this is not a solution for a server where only one side has queues; it will only be used when the entire server is too full to avoid issues with the population balance. The servers that we will be cloning are as follows:

Karak Eight Peaks will be cloned to Tor Anroc
Karak Azgal will be cloned to Zhufbar
Karak Hirn will be cloned to Yvresse
Eltharion will be cloned to Tiranoc


Here is a quick explanation of how this process works:
When we clone a server, we copy all the information of that server – all character data, guild data, zone information etc and copy it to a new server. This means that if you had a character on the original server, you will have the exact same character on the new server as well - he will have the same name, the same gear, the same items in his backpack and the same guild information. You can then choose, along with your friends whether you want to carry on playing on your original server or if you'd prefer to move across and play the version on the new server instead. Whichever you decide, the other copy of your character will remain so that if you change your mind later, it will be easy to move across.

Here is a quick example to illustrate the process. Let's say you have a level 25 Witch Hunter called Jorgen. He's in a guild called Malleus Maleficarum and he's Renown Rank 20. After the cloning process, there will be two identical copies of Jorgen, one will be on the original server that you chose when starting the game while the other will be on the new server. If you choose to play on the new server then you simply carry on where you left off with your level 25 Witch Hunter, if your friends join you then your entire guild remains intact and you can all carry on fighting together – the only difference is that this time there are no queues to log in! If you carry on adventuring with Jorgen on the new server then the 'original' Jorgen will still be on the first server at level 25, renown rank 20 etc the two versions do not both advance at the same time.

This system makes it easy to move servers but it is very important that you and your friends all discuss which of the two servers you will play on, this way your guild or alliance won't get split up and you can carry on playing together.

Imi pare bine ca baietii au facut ceva in sensul asta. Insa. Ramine intrebarea:

Va ca acolo scrie "copy it to a new server". Ce face Jorgen cind vrea sa intre in scenarii si este singur? Pentru ca nu cred ca Orderu are acelasi queue. Adica orderu pe clone server o sa fie epsilon (u know.. ala ce tinde la -infinit)
Dupa cum vad eu ca pun astia problema queule asta nu este pus sa balanseze side-urile ci pt ca exista o limita a hardware-ului.

si atunci revin cu intrebarea:

de ce au amindoua side-urile queue? stiam ca queue-le este pus pt egalizarea lor. Deci daca nu sint egale , doar unul ar avea queue.
- Overpopulated zones? nu cred. La elfi in T1 nu poti zice ca-i plin. Ca sa dau un exemplu.
- limitari la hardware ? poate. mi se pare singura explicatie a queue-lui in momentul asta.

Grrrr nu mai imi merge patcheru =/ A mai patit cineva?
Imi da urmatoarea eraore :

The patch client was unable to retrieve the file [patcher-goa.prod.sig] from the patch server. Please try the patching operation again in a short while. (

Sa fie de la noul patch? ca azi noapte a mers .. acum dimineatza.. nema... si cand ma gandesc ca mi-am luat concediu 10 zile sa joc war si numai probleme apar )

ahhh si ma trezisem azi dimineatza cu o imensa pofta sa fac rank 20 cu engineeru

Din ce m-am interesat , eroarea apare cand patch servers are down.
