Da, 4870x2 o bate pe GTX280, dar e si mai zgomotoasa, consuma cu vreo 135 de Wati (!!!) mai mult si e si mai calda cu vreo 25 de grade. Cel putin asa reiese din testul techreport. Cei de la Anandtech indica in testul lor o diferenta mai mica la consumul in full load, de ,,doar" 90 de wati.

Nu ma asteptam la aceste valori... cei care-i spuneau (DjLeco fiind unul din ei) ca o sa fie un calorifer nu s-au inselat...

Pe de alta parte, performanta este excelenta... aceasta placa are un potential imens, cu conditia ca driver-ele sa fie dezvoltata pe masura... acest lucru se observa clar din testul din Grid...

Deocamdata asta e situatia. Daca vrei performanta suprema temperatura si consumul cresc puternic. Poate pe viitor placile vor fi mai econome si cu temperaturi mai joase.

Deocamdata sint putine PB care sa suporte alimentarea HD 4870 X2 (pe linga cei 2 conectori de alimentare), iar consumul in "idle" e dezastruos! "Dear Lord! The idle load of the AMD R700 engineering sample is higher than a Radeon HD 4870 running at full chat, and the under-load figure is 120W higher than a GeForce GTX 280's - the draw is the highest we've seen. Confirmation, if it was needed, that the engineering sample we've tested is a real power-hungry mutha!" http://www.hexus.net/content/item.php?item=14178&page=9
Deci cine nu are sursa, PB si carcasa pregatite sa primeasca asa ceva ma trebuie sa scoata mult din buzunar! (in schimb, la iarna o sa ajute centrala termica...)

Nu o s-o ajute, o s-o inlocuiasca. De pe alta parte un SLI de GTX280 consuma peste 100W mai multe decat HD 4870 X2 deci o centrala termica si mai mijto...

P.S. Uite de aici va alegeti centrala termica pentru la iarna.

Cred ca tabelul ala are cateva greseli sau mi se pare mie. 8800gt consuma mai putin ca hd3870 in load? hd4870 consuma mai mult ca gtx260 in load?
EDIT: Daca se scad frecventele alea de 500 mhz in idle nu va scadea temperatura si bineintels si puterea? Zicea cineva pe aici ca msi are ceva bios care le scade la 100/300 pt hd4850 sau asa ceva. Atunci cum ar arata tabele de genu?

Da, 8800GT consuma mai putin in load, e o placa destul de rece, GTS-ul consuma mai mult decat HD3870. Cat despre al doilea exemplu o sa testez si eu zilele astea, inca nu am ajuns la GTX260, probabil maine...

Incearca si chestia daca pui fortat frecventele mai mici in idle sa vezi hd4870 sau hd4850 cam cat ar consuma... Plus ca dsaraolu a spus ca hd 4850 consuma mai putin ca 8800gt in idle. Chiar ar fi interesant daca ai verifica treaba cu scaderea frecventelor si sa ne spui si noua.
Cand am avut hd 3650 in idle pica in 110 la core si atunci avea temperaturi foarte bune. Daca ar fi scazut undeva pe la 600 erau cu vreo 5 grade in plus.

Sa nu exageram. Nu stim inca in ce fel va arata consumul in idle. Daca cei de la hexus si-ar fi facut treaba cum trebuie, ar fi respectat indrumarile Ati:

Mi se pare mie sau dupa graficul ala, cf de 4870 pare sa fi rezolvat microstutter-ul? La valorile alea nu cred ca mai e sesizabil.

Microstutter-ul nu are nici o treaba cu nr. de FPS-uri, il simti la orice FPS. Sunt acelerari si decelerari scurte ale imaginii, enervante chiar.

N-as pune nici macar un HD4850 pe sursa aia, fara suparare. Cu toate ca de pornit probabil va porni.
