    S.W.T.O.R - News/Patches/Updates

    Welcome to Star Wars™: The Old Republic™. It’s been many years in the making and the team is very proud of what we’ve achieved. Since we’re an online game we are going to continue building on the game for years to come. You can count on us to diligently expand the game and service to surprise and delight you. We’re going to not only respond to your feedback, but also hopefully exceed your expectations on how Star Wars: The Old Republic will evolve over time.
    Many of you helped make the game what it is today by participating in our testing programs. You’ve watched the game grow over the past year and have been very vocal about things you’d like to see in the game in the future.
    A team is never finished building a massively multiplayer game, so we’d like to take this opportunity to reveal a little information on what the team is working on for patches coming in the near future. Our priorities have been, and will continue to be, based off of the feedback we receive from our players.

    • New Content – We will be adding new content to the galaxy on an ongoing basis. These worlds will include Operations, Flashpoints and solo content.


    • Guild Functionality – Guilds are important to the long term health of any MMORPG. We have a huge list of guild centric features. This will be an ongoing effort that will probably never end. Guild banks are the first thing we’ll be delivering in our plans for increased guild functionality. Eventually we even want to deliver on the promise of the long hinted at “Guild Capital Ships”.


    • UI customization – You like choice. We hear you! SWTOR is all about choice. Being able to choose how you interact with an online game is something we feel is very important. We are going to be giving more control over the UI as an ongoing effort. This is a very big priority for us.


    • PvP – We have an entire team dedicated to adding content and features to player vs. player. We have some of the most experienced PvP developers in the world on this team. So far very few people have seen, or know much about the stunning Open World PVP on Ilum; when you get to the high levels prepare to be blown away! In addition to that high level PVP content, expect new Warzones and new PvP features on a regular basis.


    • Space Combat – We will continue to add missions to the space game. We also have a special project going on right now that will expand space gameplay in a significant way… for now the details will have to remain under wraps.


    • Legacy System – The ability to select a surname for your character is just the start of something much bigger. Soon, the Legacy experience and levels you earn will grant your characters access to powers, objects and other cool benefits.


    • And more – We have an entire team of developers working on future content. Right now we are focused on nothing else but Star Wars: The Old Republic, so expect new and cool things.

    It is fair to say that we’re just as excited as you are about the launch of Star Wars: The Old Republic. Not only are we launching one of the largest and most impressive games ever created, but we’re also excited about the prospect of continuing to work on the game so that you, the fans, will always have something heroic and amazing to enjoy.     Si ce va asteptati sa zica, ca ei nu mai lucreaza la joc si cui nu ii convine ghinion ?! Vorbim de EA care si daca se duce developerul la baie sa faca o treaba o prezinta ca o sedinta de brainstorming personal . Cheia succesului este in formulare si prezentare : You MAY play 5 days early if you preoder now ( desi probabil 1-2 ca sunt sute de mii inaintea ta boule ). You MAY receive new content ( in the next add-on which will cost you another 50 bucks )

    Nu cred ca o sa coste aceste schimbari pentru ca sunt cat de cat necesare. Eu cred ca o sa faca la fel ca WoW, niste patch-uri mai mari odata la cateva luni (care sa includa 1-2 instante noi, 1-2 raiduri noi si schimbari pt UI cum au mentionat, talente etc.) si expansion-uri in care o sa adauge mai multe planete, eventual si clase,specii sau mai stiu eu ce.

    Acu multi multi ani in Asheron's Call oamenii bagau patch lunar, unele mai mici, altele mai mari. De atunci pana azi nu am vazut nici un mmo sa faca asa ceva. Majoritatea prefera varianta asta tampa in care baga o instanta, 2-3 fixuri si cam atat. Parca vad ca si cei de la bioware o sa adopte politica asta tampa.

    Hello everyone, we wanted to inform you of a couple of upcoming scheduled maintenance windows.
    Generally speaking we are aiming to limit our scheduled maintenance period to once a week, on Tuesdays. We are aiming for this weekly maintenance period to take place in an off-peak time for both North American and European players. We are also aiming to inform players of the precise duration of any weekly maintenance period at least 24 hours before the maintenance begins.
    The upcoming maintenance windows (detailed below) are exceptions, and are needed to prepare ourselves for our official launch on December 20th.
    Maintenance Window #1:

    Date: Early hours of Friday, December 16th (CST)
    Time: 2AM CST (12AM PST/3AM EST/8AM GMT/9AM CET)
    All game servers and SWTOR.com will be offline during this period. This maintenance is expected to take no more than two hours, but could be extended.
    Maintenance Window #2:

    Date: Evening of December 19th (CST)
    Time: 6PM CST (4PM PST/7PM EST/12AM GMT/1AM CET)
    All game servers and SWTOR.com will be offline during this period. This maintenance is expected to complete before 11PM CST, and will mark the end of Early Game Access for Star Wars™: The Old Republic™.
    Maintenance Window #3:

    Date: Early hours of December 22nd (CST)
    Time: 2AM CST (12AM PST/3AM EST/8AM GMT/9AM CET)
    All game servers and SWTOR.com will be offline during this period. This maintenance is expected to take no more than three hours, but could be extended.
    Thanks for your patience as we maintain service for Star Wars: The Old Republic.

    SWTOR ofera 2 zile in plus, perioada de gratie pt intarziati. Asa ca in loc de pana pe 20-12, acum pana pe 22-12 trebuie sa bagati codul final. Eu l-am activat adineoari.

    We've been listening, and after doing another deep review of our platform infrastructure we're taking action. Today, we're announcing a two day grace period for Star Wars: The Old Republic customers.
    This means that everyone who pre-ordered and is in the Early Game Access program has two days beyond December 20th in which to enter their product registration code, which will be found inside the physical Standard and Collector's Editions of the game; for digital editions of the game fromOrigin.com, the registration code will have been emailed to you after December 16th. After December 22nd 12:01AM EST, you will be required to have a valid payment method and a product registration code registered to your account to continue to play. We strongly recommend that you register your product code as soon as you are able to do so (rather than waiting until the last minute) to ensure a seamless entry into the game, a smooth experience on the account website and to collect any special gifts and items you may be entitled to based on the version of the game you purchased.

    Players no longer need to reset this Operation if they do not defeat Bonethrasher.
    Corrected an issue that caused some players to become stuck at the throne room door.

    Ce sa zic fiecare cu parerea lui, dar pana acum "plaria jos pentru Bioware" : am pre comandat in 22 noiembrie si am primit 5 zile "early access" ( altii au primit chiar 7 care au fost inainte cu pre comanda) , am primit 2 zile de gratie din 20-22, deci pot spune ca s-au tinut de cuvant si chiar au facut mai mult de atat.

      • Group members outside of a player's phase are no longer prompted to roll on items.
      • The In-Game Customer Service Portal no longer appears to hang while the "updating" message is displayed.
      • The Guild interface now properly displays the guild member list when it is sorted.
      • The "Show Sith Corruption" option no longer toggles off when transitioning between areas.

    Miscellaneous Bug Fixes

    • Taxi rides are no longer occasionally interrupted, causing the player to be dropped from the taxi.
    • Using the /dismiss command now correctly dismisses a vanity pet.
    • Corrected some issues that could cause players to become stuck on the loading screen when logging into a character.
    • Players can now use emotes while riding a vehicle.
    • Fixed a bug that prevented some text-only mail messages from being received.
    • Graphics preferences in settings files are now consistent with actual settings in use.

    • Corrected an issue that caused poor performance on some machines in indoor areas with shadows enabled.
