A new hack is becoming popular on Battle.net, and people are finding their Clvl 99 characters stripped of all valuable equipment. Similar to the "same char name different realm" one from last year (that got so bad Bliz had to do a realm roll back) this one enables hackers to briefly access your character, and strip all of their items or even HC kill them. It's more complicated to do than past hacks, requiring packet sending and other such toys, but it does work, and as you can see here and here many players are reporting their very high level characters are being stripped. If you are on the ladder, you are at risk, though any character can be attacked, if hackers know your char's name. This char attack is much more prevalent on Asia 1-3 right now, but is catching on elsewhere.

You should make chars of the same name as your main character on the other realms immediately. This means the same name on Asia 1-3, or the same name on USWest/East/Europe. You don't need to have the same char name on all 6 realms, just Asia 1-3 or the others, since Asia Bnet is separate.

If you can't do this, you can still protect yourself by muling your valuable items, or leaving your character logged on all the time, since they can't be accessed if they are already online. The hack is using a packet sending trick to gain access through an identical item. This is most often a Super Healing Potion, so you should not leave any of those on your character when you log off. However it's possible to use any item in the game, such as a rejuv potion, or scroll, or tome, or even items or charms, though hackers would have a hard time figuring an identical one to one you had.
