"Cheapest" is not similar with "the best". From a energy point of view this is very wrong. China spends sometimes more energy (from the iron ore to rubber) to produce something "cheap", just for the "very low price" of something '99.
Yes, it's a "very low price" for a reason. Someone else is paying the difference. Millions in China live on a dollar per day basis because some fat american kid wants a new, cheap and poorly constructed bike, not used at all most of the time. You spend more recycling the bike, the world risking to become a giant trash can, with wars for cheap energy just because of this "cheap means the best" thing.
