Just to give a data and I did not say it is something to be proud. By the way, how many Romanians visited China last year, probably it is also in the order of 1/1000.
Beijing South Railway Station was jointly designed by a British/Hongkong firm and a Chinese firm. China is a dream place for world best architects today. Many bold achitecture ideas that are implemented in China are difficult to be implement in other part of the world. Here in the architecture department of University of California at Berkeley, everybody wants to work with China.
Until recently, China often gave more financial compensation for foreign architect firms than domestic architect firms in bidding major construction projects. This might not be a bad policy for a certain period when a country needs to learn and introduce world cutting-edge design. Facing strong opposition against this policy by domestic architects, Chinese government has recently passed a regulation requiring equal treatment for foreign and domestic architecture design firms in future bidding.

You wanted equal chances for everyone, this was the essence of any communist ideology, now make something about it. Do you think the ordinary chinese doesn't want to see in their lifetime.. let's say, Colloseum? Why do you not let them choose for themselfs? Are you scared that they will not come back? |
Again, you are talking something that is baseless. China has overpopulation problem and it will be glad if any country wants to accept Chinese immigrants.
