Salut! Un var al meu tocmai si-a bagat internet (RDS). A primit modemul, o sa cumpere si o placa de retea ca nu avea. Are un Duron 750Mhz, 128 Ram, in fine un calc mai slabut pe care are Windows 98 instalat. Sfatuiti-ma si pe mine ce solutie de securitate sa folosesc in cazul lui. El o sa faca browsing si messenger. Pe Duron 750Mhz cu 128 RAM poate sa instaleze linistit XP SP2 (eventual cu tema clasica). Firewall-ul din XP activat si o solutie AV oarecare sunt suficiente pentru protectie (vezi thread-ul cu Best Antivirus).

drivere de xp se gasesc pe net. in majoritatea cazurilor pc-urile vechi au drivere integrate in xp. recomand xp asemeni lui mx. antivirusi pt 98 nu prea se mai fac.

Inca se mai fac, dar au probleme mari de stabilitate pe platformele 9x. Cu solutiile firewall e si mai rau. O versiune care n-a facut niciodata probleme pe 98 si are update-uri si astazi este AVP 3.5 (kaspersky) de la (fostul) www.avp.ch.

e numai bun pt el. Crezi ca un firewall nou dar prost e mai bun ? Poa' sa incerce si versiunea full si noua, dar nu stiu daca merge pe 98 si cat ii mananca din resurse. Mie imi manca in jur de 30 ram, adica multisor pt 128 ram totali.
