Eu am ramas numai cu Opera, dupa multe cercetari si cu ajutorul acestui thread. Ocupa putine resurse si are si email-ul in el. Aici am o problema la care v-as ruga sa ma ajutati: eu folosesc clientul de email din Opera. Stiti,cumva, cum l-as putea face sa accepte si HTML, nu numai Plain text. E posibil sa nu se poata ?

Acid2 fixes

Several fixes for margin collapsing model.
Prevented elements from being less than 0 pixels high.

Table backgrounds are rendered if the table has dimensions, but no contents.
:before rules in CSS do not cause unrelated form elements to disappear.
Margins correctly treated on elements with clear: that follow a float.
Comments in strict HTML documents are treated as SGML comments.
Intersection of borders compatible with reference rendering.
Corrected use of :hover with no element selector.
Overflow on the HTML element is applied to the viewport.
Elements with overflow:hidden; can scroll to anchors within them.

Ma inervati cu Opera asta
Am decis sa ii dau o a treia sansa.
Precizez ca am nevoie strict de browser, nu de client de email, torrent, chat si altele.

Instalat, configurat putin (cat sa-i placa ochiului, nu am instalat nimic suplimentar) si deschis simultan cu Firefox.
Goale: Firefox 24MB, Opera 16MB. E adevarat ca firefox are oarece extensii in plus.
Deschis prima pagina de la CG si logat: Firefox 24MB, Opera 24MB.
Scris postul asta (fara submit): Firefox 25MB, Opera 27MB.

Am decis sa inchei meciul la egalitate deocamdata.

Ce imi lipseste (si nu stiu de unde sa "procur") pana acum, sau ma deranjeaza:
-Adblock sau ceva similar. M-am speriat cand am vazut 3 bannere pe pagina asta.
-Search box pentru Wikipedia si IMDb (eventual si in alte locuri). Se poate?
-Daca inchid ultimul tab se inchide toata sandramaua. Presimt ca se poate modifica comportamentul asta dar nu stiu de unde.
+Bookmarkuri pe mai multe pagini. Am 4 pagini in Opera si in FF trebuia sa scrollez in draci.
-Constat chiar acum ca nu mai pot afisa status bar-ul.
-Dat la nimereala prin bookmarks, nimerit pe Uncyclopedia (http://uncyclopedia.org/wiki/Main_Page) si constatat ca oarece text se suprapune peste imagine. Nu ma supar totusi pentru ca e posibil ca webmeşterii sa fi gresit (desi in FF se afiseaza corect).

O sa mai cercetez si poate ma indrumati putin pe unde ma mai incâlcesc. Am decis sa il pastrez minim o saptamana pana dau "Yes" pe butonul de inceput cu "default browser" (sau il las in paragina, dupa performante).

Ivan - pentru search - tool/options/advanced/search - dar ai destul de multe search-uri si am inteles ca poti sa faci tu altele dar nu stiu cum. E simplu de scris doar 'g' in fata unui text in bara de adresa pentru a cauta in google.

In unele pagini fontul nu se vede prea bine, e adevarat si asta include forumul, cand incerci sa dai search textul e acoperit de reclama Best. Pentru Adblock astept si eu sugestii - pop-up block functioneaza insa excelent.

Eu prefer Opera pentru ca are din start Mouse gestures si mi se pare mai compact si mai rapid decat orice altceva.

PS : Later edit - Search blocat de reclama s-a rezovat prin instalarea versiunii 9.0.

1. Adblock
Cel mai simplu e cu filter.ini (atasat e ce folosesc eu). Versiunea 9 vad ca stie sa colapseze elementele blocate mai bine decit 8, revin imediat.
filter.ini blocheaza chestiile complet, nu doar afisarea lor. Asta e built-in, trebuie sa adaugi o line in opera6.ini sub [Adv User Prefs] asa:

Acum daca vrei sa fii mai smecher mai folosesti un .css for further refinement (eu il folosesc pe asta de aici). Pentru treaba asta, cel mai usor faci asa: Alt - P >> Advanced >> Content >> Style Options >> la User Mode bifezi toate optiunile mai putin #4 (My fonts & colors - !important!) - default mode User Mode - My Style Sheet [browse to] AdBlocker.css.
Ai putea sa folosesti doar .css-ul asta, insa asta blocheaza doar afisarea. Pentru toggle intre user mode - author mode ai shortcut Shift G.
In v9 din cite mi se pare poti sa te lipsesti de .css, e mai destept decit v8.

Poti sa vezi si ce-i cu OperaAdblock, sincer mie mi se pare cam inutil. Mai e si OperaAdFilter, care te-ajuta sa modifici filter.ini, tot cam inutil. Sau cu .js, vezi link-ul ala, e cam cea mai buna sursa de informatie privind Opera.

3. Instalarea default nu face asa, iti sugerez sa-ti instalezi pe curat 9a1, rupe. Nu stiu de unde se modifica. Ai grija la instalare sa nu-ti instaleze pentru mai multi useri daca n-ai chef sa sapi prin Documents & Settings dupa ini-uri la fiecare windows decedat.

4. Bookmarks - nu stiu. Eu le am organizate intr-o mie de directoare. Sigur se poate, dig it .

5. Status Bar - Shift F12 >> Toolbars >> Progress Bar > PopUp at Bottom (e un drop box pe la mijloc)

6. Ia zi-mi un browser care se descurca mai bine http://www.webstandards.org/act/acid2/ hihihi

Ora 2AM si ma plictiseam, asa ca m-am dus la opera.com si am downloadat si eu opera 8.5, o singura data am incercat opera si nu mi-a placut din cauza reclamelor.

In mare mi se pare ca se misca mai bine decat firefox, pare insa mai complicat si are unele chestii ce ma cam enerveaza, cum ar fi chestia aia ce apare sub location bar cu searchul la amazon.com si ce butoane or fi pe acolo, nu-mi place ca scroll (cu rotita de la mouse) merge destul de fragmentat si e prea lent.

Meniul de feeds mi se pare prea complicat, e mult mai dragut si simplu cel din firefox, nu am nevoie de un tab nou ca sa imi arate toate noutatile, o lista ca si la bookmarks ar fi fost destul.

In mare, chiar daca pare ca merge mai "smooth" decat firefox, nu e pe gustul meu, prefer simplitatea, adica un browser gol si bun pe care sa pot atarna ce extensii vreu si sa-l customizez dupa bunul meu plac.

Asta a fost primul si ultimul meu mesaj calare fiind pe Opera.
