Am urmatoarea configuratie: AMD K6-2 la 450 MHz pe o placa Acorp 5VIA77 cu chipset VIA MVP3, hdd Nikimi XR205A 20G (detalii la http://www.nikimi.com/Hard-Disks/XR/ ) cu 128 MB RAM. Problema este: atunci cand bootez in linux(Mandrake 9.1) imi apare ca nu am DMA enable si eu i-am dat DMA enable cu hdparm. Acum problema este daca stie cineva ce trebuie sa fac poate la placa de baza sa setez ceva, sau poate HDD nu are DMA ? VA rog mult cine stie sa posteze orice solutie crede ca e buna. Am instalat si Win 98 si are aceeasi problema: nu pot seta DMA la HDD. Din BIOS e setat pe PIO mode 4 si pe UDMA mode auto. Multumesc anticipat!!! | ||

Din cate stiu eu de pe vremea cand aveam o placa de baza antica VIA, pentru a face un HDD cu posibilitate de UDMA mai mare de 33 (ATA 66, 100, 133, etc) sa mearga in DMA trebuie limitat la UDMA33 cu utilitarul producatorului (nu distrugi nimic, ca oricum placa ta de baza nu merge mai sus de UDMA33).

Raptor are dreptate. Am avut aceeasi problema cu o placa de baza cu chipset VIA MVP.
