I've been looking forward to this game. Painkiller with 4 player coop sounded good even if the engine is a bit outdated.

So when i came home from work i installed the game on my pc.
Everything went smoothly. I started the game and configured the graphics.

Then i wanted to try out the coop modus so i clicked on multiplayer, host game.
Some strange message came up. I had to run a dedicated server to host a multiplayer game.
Strange?! But if it works i won't complain.

So i set up a coop server and wanted to join on the same pc.
i got the following error:

Net Error: failed connection due to pure server and different checksum of our scripts

Well isn't that just great.... luckily i got more pc's with enough power to host a dedicated server.

After installing the game again and configuring a dedicated server i tried to join the game again on my primary system.
I got the same fucking error!

After i ran ResurrectionUpdater.exe on both pc's i was finally able to join the game but it was BAAAAADDDDD

What is this? It's not even ALPHA quality. Enemies were bouncing all over the place. They would fall trough stairs and wouldn't even attack me!

Another guy joined my game and he also started complaining.

Jowood fucks up again. How the fuck can this shitty excuse of a game pass quality testing?

Well.. nice job. I won't ever buy another jowood product again.
Costomers BEWARE! Coop is onplayable. The game isn't even alpha quality.

Homegrown fan made product... guess that says all... should have been a free mod.

Cum rezista Jowood pe piata dupa atat de mult phail ? Pacat de ei ca au finantat proiecte in mare parte excelente.

Un joc de o asemenea proasta calitate nici ca am mai intalnit pana acum. Unii se plangeau de grafica, dar asta e cea mai mica grija.

Buguri in nestire:
-m-am blocat la locul de spawn, a trebuit sa incep pe alta dificultate ca sa pot juca (eram lipit de locul de spawn, la inceputul jocului).
-pathfinding atroce, inamicii se impiedica in orice element de decor.
-personajul tau are tendinta sa se blocheze in orice caramida de pe jos.
-inamici care plutesc prin aer, intra prin obiecte, etc
-etc

Design al nivelelor ingrozitor. Am jucat primul capitol si jumate din al doilea (plus ce jucasem in demo). Nu poate fi descris in cuvinte cat de prost sunt concepute si cum arata.

Inamici care se spawneaza la 1m in fata ta, fara nicio jena, ca si cum ai da add din consola. In primul Painkiller era mult mai bine realizat spawn-ul inamicilor.

Pt mine a fost deajuns. Jocul zici ca e un mod facut de fani, in stadiu alpha. Am jucat 40 de minute in total si asta doar pt ca nu sunt genul care da delete la un joc dupa 5 minute.

Nu stiu cum au tupeul sa vanda asa ceva, eu regret si ratia pierduta cu el, sa nu mai zic de timp. Evitati-l. Mai bine jucati primul Painkiller inca o data.

Painkiller Resurrection co-op feature: Not so much? - Publishers JoWood and its subsidiary Dreamcatcher Games have been promoting their just released first person shooter Painkiller Resurrection as having co-op support for the single player game. But is that totally true? (thanks BigDownload) Looks like the original Painkiller fans (count me in) are pretty disappointed and and want refund: "No new engine + pathetic level design + horrendous AI = W T F are you guys charging money for?"
