Aren't you guys tired in talking politics about China?

Why don't you guys try to forget politics and get into business? Russia has cut nature gas supply to Romania for several days in this cold winter. Maybe someone here can make some money by importing solar water heaters from China to solve a part of energy shortage problem. Maybe someone here can cooperate with some Chinese companies to build a factory in Romania to make solar water heaters. See the solar water heater on the roof of buildings in the attached picture.

Nu cred ca "solar water heater" te ajuta a foarte mult in mijlocul "iernii reci". In Romania iarna nu-i ca vara.

Ok, bussiness then : maybe a nuclear war between China and India will solve the world oil depletion and energy problem of the world , cuting down the world demand. Half the population = double the stocks.

See ? China could save the mankind.

Ardur, you are right. Solar water heaters are insufficient to supply energy for heating in winter. It can not replace natural gas. It just solves a small part of energy problem by providing free warm water in winter. A solar water heater can provide warm water even in the winter and cloudy days because it has vacuum insulated heating tubes. Spain and Israel have passed a law to require all new buildings to install solar water heaters.

In China, solar water heaters have become very popular. In some northern provinces which have similar latitude as Romania, solar water heaters are widely used. Cost of a solar water heater is typically in the range of 100-400US$.

You have no idea about the current world supply and demand of oil. China and India are neither the biggest oil consumers nor importers. Check following data for year 2007 (in percentage of world total)

................Consumption................Production
US................24%..........................10%
EU................17%...........................3%
China..............9%..........................4%
Japan..............6%..........................0%
India...............3%...........................1%

Is not about the consume right now is about the growth/year and the doubling rate of consume.

Well, how about this: I try to invest in a newspaper or an news site, in China, and because the politicians are arresting some of my stuff for writting against the government, my bussiness goes belly up. I reckon bussiness and politics go hand in hand in China.

By the way, since you brought up the natural gas situation, ain't that a politics driven affair ?

Yes, it is partially driven by geopolitics. I said in a thread in this forum a year ago that leaders of Ukraine and Georgia were naive. They completely miscalculated world power balance. Now they have to take the consequence of their miscalculation.

Quote:
Ambasada Chinei: "Tibetul reprezinta o parte inalienabila a teritoriului chinez.

Tell me why! Are western and eastern leaders planning a military invasion into China from Afghanistan?

Western media’s propaganda indeed brainwashed some people. From Western media, I have frequently heard Chinese communist invasion of Tibet, but I have never read or heard a historical fact that every Western country recognized Tibet was a part of China and Tibet was in the territory of China in every world map drawn by Western countries before communist took power in China and sent troop to Tibet. No Western media ever mentioned that Dalai Lama wrote a poem praising Mao in 1950s:
"Only limitless blessing could create such a leader like the sun radiating across the land. His writings are as precious as pearls."

I don’t think it is in the best interest of Romania to get into Dalai Lama issue.

I just took a direct flight from Taiwan to China for Chinese New Year three days ago. Currently over one million of Taiwan's 22 million population live in China. Since direct flight between the mainland China and Taiwan started a few months ago, a large number of mainland Chinese tourist have visited Taiwan, bringing a large tourism revenue to Taiwan economy which is currently in recession. Unification between China and Taiwan is a matter of time and won't be in the distant future.
