De cateva zile au pus si scurte descrieri ale luptelor, meciul de mai jos cred ca merita urmarit.

Patient Relaxed People (8) vs Eternum Pariah (1)
Battle #5 in Eternum Pariah’s Guild Hall (Warrior Isle)

EP build: WM-style split
pRp build: Ranger Spike/Mesmer Spike with 2 Monks and a Bonder
EP switched to a WM style with 4 Warriors and a heavy split, with pRP also adjusting their lineup.

EP earned quick kills on pRp’s NPCs and forced them back into their base.

pRp masterfully held the flag and systematically spiked members of the other team, quickly working off their Death Penalty.

Surrounded, pRp was forced to patrol both sides of their base to ward off attackers, eventually holding a strong morale advantage for most of the game.

After a long, drawn out exchange, the Victory or Death condition kicked in.

EP advanced with their NPCs, which pRp sent packing, killing their NPCs in the process.

pRp retained control of the flag, and spiking a few targets at every opportunity.

After countless close calls with the Catapult, pRp finally suffers several casualties giving EP some much needed morale boosts.

At the 80-minute mark, pRp sustained a huge loss to the Catapult. EP took quick advantage of the miscalculation and pressed ahead, earning a morale boost and more kills along the way.

pRp retaliated and managed to sneak a team into EP’s base. Their attack on the Guild Lord comes a bit late as EP’s Monks were already in position.

While EP fought off the invasion, they performed their own attack against pRp’s Guild Lord, taking victory. It was a fantastic match, with pRp lasting much longer then expected.

Victor: Eternum Pariah

Reguli noi pt. al doilea campionat mondial

With the conclusion of the first Guild Wars World Championship comes the news that players will get their next opportunity to test their mettle as the world tournament season for Guild Wars FactionsTM begins March 7, 2006. The Guild Wars Factions Championship (GWFC) series will feature three seasons of competitive play and tournaments. Each tournament season will consist of four weeks of competitive guild vs. guild (GvG) play that will culminate with a season-ending tournament for the top 16 guilds. Each guild that makes this final tournament will earn GWFC points as well as in-game and out-of-game prizes. GWFC points can be spent in each guild's attempt to earn one of five available invitations being offered to compete live at the Guild Wars Factions Championship in August 2006. Just like the recent GWWC event held in Taiwan, the guilds invited to the GWFC will compete for more than $100,000 cash and prizes in front of a live audience, where they will meet and make friends with guilds from around the world. Visit www.guildwars.com for rules and information.

Sistemul de rating pe ladder

The Guild Wars Ladder uses "Elo ratings" for each season.

This Elo rating system compares a guild's match records against their opponents' match records and determines the probability of the guild winning the matchup. This probability factor determines how many points a guild's rating goes up or down based on the results of each match. When a guild defeats an opposing guild with a higher rating, the guild’s rating goes up more than if they defeated a guild with a lower rating (since guilds have a high probability of defeating those with lower ratings). All new guilds start out with a base rating of 1000. The Guild Wars tournament ladder uses the following equation to determine a guild's win probability in each match:

Win Probability = 1 / (10^((Opposing Guild's Rating–Guild's Rating)/400) + 1)

This probability is then used to recalculate each guild's rating after the match. In the equation below, guilds receive 1 point if they win the match and 0 if they lose. The guild's new ratings are determined as follows:

Guild's New Rating = Guild's Old Rating + (K-Value * (Scoring Points–Guild's Win Probability))

All guilds are rated at the beginning with the first match in which they play. Further ratings are calculated chronologically from that first match.

The K-Value which is the maximum number of points a guild's rating may go up or down based on the results of a single match within an event that uses the Elo ratings system is currently 30.

The Guild Wars Ladder ranks guilds in geographic regions based on their Elo ratings to determine the top guilds in each area.
